Since I was a child with my first set of crayons I've been creating art in one form or another. My mother was my greatest artistic inspiration and supporter. I've dabbled with many types of mediums and styles and have comfortably settled into digital collage (for now!) In my studio, digital does not mean fast and easy --- it takes hours and days for me to complete my work -- LaRue was a nickname my mom would occasionally call me, and years ago I thought that she would make a great character. Couple that with my love of collecting inspiring quotes, LaRue Rule's was born. Her hats are a tribute to my beautiful mom, who loved to wear hats and often encouraged me to do so. The glasses and sunnies - that's from me. I collect them like some people collect stamps.
